Lotus Elan

Twin Cam technical drawing never seen before!

PostPost by: promotor » Sat Nov 03, 2018 7:15 pm

And there's a reason for that - my old man drew this on his computer! He's spent hundreds of hours on it and to say I'm impressed is an understatement (he's done other drawings of crossflows and 2000e / Type 9 gearboxes but this is incredible)!!
It's taken pride of place on the workshop wall. All drawn from original Lotus engine parts supplied from my own stock of parts (ie having each individual part in his hands). Basically he has drawn my own engine from scratch!

The photo doesn't quite show it but it's a massive print too - 1.2m x 0.85m!!

It looks fabulous on the wall Al, and I need one! Show him this drawing as well, from the Mk1 Lotus Cortina supplement. Maybe worth incorporating on another drawing!

Me To please. - it be great to have him do a run and sell them - he should sign them as well. A work of art should be admired.

That's fantastic, I'd buy a copy. One small suggestion for an improvement (if I dare) if you were going to have a print run; he could change the Lotus badge to the one with the earlier sans serif font which would be correct for the era of the twin cam.
