when in getting seat upholstered it was found frame had been badly repaired in distant past now has given way at bottom, both sides,is this a common problem?,frame is being shot blasted then I think it needs some fabrication work, one more step backwards in restoration list

It's just mild steel with, quick welds or brazing. We have old Porsches do the same thing. People don't think about it but seats take beating. Clean, repair..........done.
