Engine strip down

Just whipped off the head prior to engine removal , don't look standard pistons +40 . Can anybody give me any info of head age etc , cams measure standard lift, valves measure standard any help would be appreciated

They look like standard style pistons to me, albeit +40. The number on the back end of the head - LP8117 is probably the engine number associated with the head when it left the factory, which makes it around 66/67. Not sure if that's an Elan or +2. Does it match your engine number? Someone may have more info for engine LP8117..
