lotus elan +2 restoration

Hello guys, I tried to find a post with detailed photos of the interior, but I have not found anything, the problem is that the car when I bought it had already removed the interior and now I know how a lot of things, thanks to those who help

Another problems, where i can find the Intermediate Plate ? it is number 26

Ray at RD Enterprises (source of the diagram posted) had a run of new pieces made not too long ago. I bought a new on from him, hopefully he has some stock left.

Probaby won't help much but I am pretty sure it is the same as the ford anglia and mk1 cortina.

Just ran a check on Ebay. One just recently sold. Couldn't see any others right now but one will pop up for sure. Try the Cortina MK1 guys and the Anglia guys too...

Forgive me Nicola, but it looks to me, that you have supported the rear of the car, with stands to the centre of one bar on the A frames. They are not very strong there, and are easily bent, even without the body on.

Good catch Leslie.

Nico, I cut two 3/4" plywood pads with a slot for the rear brake rotors, shaped like the A frames. I place the jack and jack stands under the plywood to spread the load. Easy to make up now with the body off and very handy. Very stable way to support the car or frame only, and prevents the suspension staying in a full droop position which can cause issues if left for a long time.

Car is looking great. I wish I was smart enough to start it and check things out before installing the body.

The car before restoration had the same problem, in the past had raised supporting the lift to the centre of one bar on the A frames and they were all crooked, now I've raised them because without the body is very light, it is raised with one hand behind.

Very good Nico. So long as you are aware of the problem. We all did not want to see the next set of photo's of your body mounted on the chassis, with it supported as you show above. After all your hard work, it would be a shame to bend those frames.

I wish my Italian was as good as your English.

The body is starting to look very good, apart from the blindingly obvious fact that it is green - what is the colour that you have chosen?
