superstarter

What is the proper "clocking" of a superstarter on a TC installed into a +2?
Solenoid on top, bottom, or tilted away from the block on top?
My motor/tranny is out....about to re-insert

I'm not sure of the specifics of the plus2, but I would fit the starter after the block is back in place. On my S4 there is only one way to fit it (just barely).

I was planning on bolting it in after block/gearbox back in. It had to come out like that!
The Superstarter is just a bit different than what was on it. Hoping somebody has
already encountered this

Hi David, if a "Superstarter" is anything like a pre-engaged then the solenoid is tight for space. The Elan and +2 are identical in this area. I think the solenoid will only fit if positioned directly under the motor itself. Sort of north/south arrangement. There is little room for error. Good luck.

Recently refit fitted mine, I believe it is from RDent. I don't remember which part was the motor and which the solenoid but what I remember is that the electric connection is directly no top and vertical.

If from RDEnterprises it was a Gustafson starter...

My TIlton Super Starter has the solenoid directly above the the starter motor.

Been in the car since about 1991, and 30k miles.
