Inboard rear disks?

Didn't the prototype have inboard rears and rotoflexes that (un)wound
when parked uphill? Anyone know more detail? Was cooling an issue?

If memory serves me right it was interference with the parking brake assembly
that killed inboard rear brakes.

I've found a reference which blames their downfall on "the torque
effects that produced a severe judder at the back if brakes were
applied between 40-50mph. It goes on to say "apart from that the car
moved up to 10" against the handbrake due to take-up in the rubber
doughnuts". No doubt the parking brake assy also caused some
headaches.
