Great video - the elan appears to have more oversteer than is desirable in almost every type of corner - but maybe its just the drivers style of continually turning in more than needed and then releasing it.

cheers

In fact , Rohan , you are nearly right ; It's part of its driving style but not only ...
He had to stay in front of the Etype at its back ...
You can see the nose in the mirror ...
But , from the Etype , let's have a look:

Even better , a mix of the to inboard cams :

Did you notice that the speed display in the E-Type got over 140 without it catching the Elan?

What do the numbers in the bottom RH corner of the E-Type video represent?

140Km/H ... 210 Km/H at the end of the straight ... The speed display doesn't figure the hundreds ...

Besides G forces, what else is displayed on the E-Type video?

Lower display is acceleration in Gs.

Middle display is cornering Gs. Interestingly, it goes over 1G several times.

Top display is speed in KMH mod 100. (Why can't he afford a third digit?) Top speed achieved was 211 or 212.

Great video, very entertaining, no doubt! However, I would tend to agree with Rohan, the car seems very nervous, even in a straight line..... ! It may be, as you say, the driving style, but hardly in a straight line.....(??!) Do you know the set up ? ( - just curious...maybe I can pick up something...... ! )

The part I love is when he uses the smooth part of the track between the curb and grass as the preferred line - only in a elan . What size tires is he running ? sometimes really wide rubber can make the car shuffle in a straight line.

Fascinating video. It is interesting to see how long it takes some of the drivers to get up to race speed--except for the Lotus Eleven. He really takes off! Having started my racing in and against Elevens I was impressed with his performance but a 26R (or equivalent Elan) should have three seconds a lap on the average track over an Eleven as seemed to be the case once 'our' driver got up to speed. I do like E Types but the Elans always make it look easier.... The 'Vette was going well until he seemed to run out of brakes.
