Alternator Bracket

PostPost by: jkolb » Fri Aug 12, 2005 2:53 am

I would like to use a Denso alternator on my Elan (50 amp less than 6 lbs). Does anyone know of a prefabricated bracket for this installation or am I going to have to have one made?

Thanks

Jerry

Dent , Lotus part supplier at this address http://www.rdent.com/pages/parts.html, has the alternator kit upgrade, not sure if they sell it the bracket only. Call and check.

I suppose you could whittle one out of aluminum---but I just cut a spacer out of some tube and placed it in the generator bracket to move the unit into the proper place and take up the slack  ---ed

Hi, I saw you were converting to a lightweight Denso alternator, what alternator did you end up using? Was it a kit like the one from Kelvedon or Dave Bean or a secondhand alternator?

Just wondering which car would be a good donor.
Thanks
