Bought a set of blue KFP Magnum pads after talking to Lee Chapman about performance stopping the Elan.

Was going to remove these pads after the trackday but haven't gotten around to that yet so I've recently had a chance try these pads in the wet weather. The different brand of pads I had on there previously when wet had to be dried off before there was any braking action so planning ahead prior to actually needing the brakes was imperative. Had to relearn to get adept at left-foot braking when it was ever raining. Not with these KFP pads they work really well even stone cold and soaking wet. These are the only brake pads I'm using from now for street or track year round. Well worth the extra cost.

I recently fitted a set of slotted and spotted front disks from EBC to my Elan. My last race about a month ago was in the pouring rain and the new disks made a noticeable improvement in terms of brake bite in the cold and wet conditons.

I run EBC green stuff pads on most tracks and Ferodo DS3000 on the extreme braking tracks.

Hi

Noone has mentioned hawk race pads. They are absolutely superb! I tried ebc and disliked them intensely in race conditions.

Actually, I dont know anyone racing an Elan in HSCC events that doesn't use hawk..........

BTW, if racing, change discs every 2 years regardless. Had 2 crack on me at Silverstone last October!
