Areodynamic aids on a +2 Elan

Brian,
I wonder if this is a case of mistaken identity?. On the later
+2's, the rear brakes were fitted with "dust shields", part of which was a
horizontal piece of sheet metal, attached to the "A" frame by "P" clips. Has
this given rise to the rumour of an areodynamic aid?

On a completely differant note, has anyone an effictive method of removing
oil stains from a tarmac drive?
It would help improve things on the domestic front if I could remove the
stains on our driveway!

Plus 2 aerodynamics

I believe it's fairly well known that Lotus claim the Plus 2 body design
drew heavily from wind tunnel research done on the Rover gas turbine car,
the objective at the time being to minimise drag.

However, this was in the days before ground effects, and in profile the
Plus 2 has almost a perfect high lift aerofoil shape.

Has anyone any experience of the benefit or otherwise of undernose and/or
bootlid spoilers on the car ?

TIA,
