David,

I'm not much help here. I bought my car as a bunch of boxes in L.A. and part
of the deal was that the seller built the car. He lowered the car, made it
adjustable, etc. (Just to contribute to the split fender conversation, to
get the tyres under the rear wheel wells he split the body on each side back
from the door openings and let in about an inch on each side)

When i got the car to Britain I had to raise the car an inch just to clear
sleeping policemen and the work was done by Mike Brown Rally. Either Mike or
Paul Matty's guys can help.

John

David, thanks for the E-mail. you may want to check and see if your car is
so low the bump stops are coming into play when the suspenion is under
load. This would cause the car to have the boucning problem. The Elan uses a
thick isolator(rubber disc) on the top mount to the frame on the front
shocks. This can be reduced in thickness (from 1"to 1/2") and your spring
perch raised to put more travel into your shock and get it further away from
the bump stops and still have the same ride height.Check this out it may
help. Best wishes,Ken.
