The September '99 issue of "Road & Track" wins back some favor at MY house.
. . The cover shows a yellow Sport 190 Elise, The main lead article is a
"0-100-0" shootout in which the Sport 190 and the Caterham Superlight R
place very well in the group including 2 Astons and the XKR Jag.
"Icing on the cake" is a "Side Glances" article by my favorite car writer,
Peter Egan. The title is "Driving the old Lotuses" and the subject is
Peter's vintage race drives of two Lotus formula Fords; a 51A and a 31.
Peter said: "It's nice to see the world, if just for a moment as Jim Clark
or Innes Ireland might have seen it a long time ago."

I'm gonna go play with the 51A tomorrow!
Eleven S1 - Elite S1 - Elan S1 - 23B - 51A

Oh Tony, I've done you a silent injustice. Of course, I thought I knew Lotus
better than that too :-/
Ha ha! Yes I did miss that all important item. Profuse apologies for what I
was thinking. I'm so glad I didn't say anything for which I'd be sorry.
You do have a nice collection there. Is the Elan anywhere near road-worthy?
