Chassis

Thanks Brian for your comments about my chassis. I think repair
would have been a long road to nowhere and the end result would have
never been perfect. I did look at Spyder and was impressed with the
advancements they have made in a few areas. Originality of design
pulled me back ordering a new replacement chassis from Lotus. My
original chassis is certainly unique in many areas and will be a
talking point when prepared and mounted on the garage wall. Thanks
again to everybody who has sent their 2d worth. I am still working
through this and that on my chassis to see what is infact
different......and the same.

By the way did anybody catch the August 98 edition of the Classic
Cars magazine (the British one). Page 54. My best classic I ever
bought was a Elan S3 Coupe by.....Gordon Murray. Bright boy!

Does anybody have any thoughts on the relative merits of the Lotus galvanised chassis v the Spyder spaceframe chassis. I can't decide which one to use for my rebuild. The Spyder seems to me to be the better engineered chassis, whereas the Lotus chassis has the advantage of being original. So, which is the best way to go?
