I am the original owner of Red 1967 Lotus Elan Convertible Unit # 6078,
Ch No L5/6078 Eng no LP 6561. It had Stanpart radiator - 2 blade fan -
always overheated in heavy traffic - had to put heater on high full
blast to keep it cool. My car has been in storage for last 28 years -
was in middle of chain reaction crash while stopped at a stoplight.
Drunk driver behind us. Damage front and rear. Like car, but the fiber
glass resin fumes are so nasty, just the thought of them keeps me away.

Your Elan 6078 is very close to my S3 rally prototype at chassis
6086. Now.........and you wouldn't believe this but I have your
chassis production sheet infront of me. It says 6078 Engine LP 6561
LBA ECS 1494 (haven't a clue what that means) dated 23.8.66 and it
went to Lotus East as one of their cars to sell.
thank heavens for the internet

thanks for your reply. I can feel the heat. I'm near Queenstown in
the Southern Alps of New Zealand. Your details just happen to be on
a sheet that has the same details about my little car. Small world!
