Blame my little boy of seven if you like. Its just that he happened
to pick up from Queenstown for rent a video called The Avengers Vol 1-
The Town of No Return/ From Venus with Love.

Haven't times changed. I think it could be called "high camp" now.
But it was great to see the little blue Elan ferry Emma on her
missions. Can anybody tell me how many "stars" played Emma? I think
it was four or five.

Brian,

there's only really been one "Emma", but you're right that Steed had 4
female partners. If you're about to set out collecting the series, I've got
a list of most of the videos on

http://homepages.tesco.net/~brian.martl ... ngers0.htm

It won't be complete because there's been a lot of re-issues over the past
year. You're right about how times have changed - there's a sort of
innocence about it all. I must admit, I'm hooked.....

If you are into The Avengers you must be into Danger Man aswell!
Didn't Colin do well to get his product in both programmes.

By a strange quirk of fate, I have just borrowed some of the "Danger Man"
episodes on video.
The question is : Do you know which episode has the Elan in it?

There was also one episode of the Prisoner with an Elan in it. A late one in the series where, I think in a dream, Patrick is chasing an E-type around the country roads.

The Lotus Elan LVF 120E ?? appears in the episode "The Girl Who Was Death" Lotus 7 KAR 120C appears in the opening sequence of every episode.

ISTR a film starring Keith Barron, something about an arsonist, in which he drove an Elan+2. Can anyone confirm this?

Any other notable appearances of Lotuses on the big screen or small screen?

On returning the Avenger video tape to its keeper, a question has
come to mind. What ever happened to Mr Peel? Was he at home,
clearing up the mess, after finishing off the light blue Elan for his
athletic wife Emma.

Hello Brian,

Mr Peel was a pilot and was lost andpresumed dead somewhere over
South America. Not finding the body not only provided an out when
Diana Rigg wanted to leave the show but probably accounted for Mrs
Peel maintaining "proper appearances" with Stead. The episode
"Forget-Me-Knot" has Mr Peel collecting Emma complete with bowler,
brolly (how do you spell bumbershoot in British?) and Bentley. This
is when we first see Tara King as Stead's new "side-kick" (pardon my
americanism).

In the near future I will be able to make the remote controlled model of the
Elan which I planned. So I dare to ask if anybody will be interested in
this? Scale will be 1/8, overall length 46cm (10ft 6in). As far as I know
this is the only model that exists worldwide - of that scale. Speed about
35km/h (TAMIYA chassis). It will come out as an Elan 2.5 - the
"Avenger"-type of Emma Peel in silver blue. But other colours are available
too. Price will be about EUR/USD700.
It's not yet ready, but you may put your name down here for it.
