What happens when you mix LSD and an Elan S2. Interesting bit of pop history placed in that notable song "day in the life". See:

...and here I'd skipped this ''boring'' thread thinking it was limited slip differential ! An Elan Soap Opera in the works.

170kph? Don't think so - not from the appearance of the car after the impact. Nor from the fact that Suki Poitier survived. Exaggeration? Journalistic licence? Complete tosh?

And after the crash Suki Poitier went on to be companion of Brian Jones (1967-1969) (The Stones). Never married, no children. What a life she must have experienced in the sixties. What ever happened to her?

Oh the wonders of the interent. Suki only managed to reach 1979 before driving both her husband and herself off a cliff (doesn't say if it was a Lotus).

Hello hatman, it says he reached speeds of 170kph, not that he crashed at that speed.

Another Elan and LSD

This is a picture of one of the Merry Pranksters with his Elan taken in San Francisco in the mid sixties. Must be a connection between Elans and LSD, was it unsuspecting owners going to the garage and asking for a LSD and getting something different from the usual Salisbury type?

Fair enough - but there's a definite implication in the report. True impact speed about 30mph perhaps? Interesting too about Suki Potier being Anita Pallenberg. You learn something every day (certainly on this forum!) :)

I'll guess quite a bit more, 45 to 60 ish at least, it depends on how it hit and what stopped it. How far under the lorry did they get? I'll guess again, nearly to the rear window.
I WHACKED the right rear of mine once, parked in the driveway, with a mini van at about 10mph, made me sick, got out and NO visible damage. (three years later, corner stress cracks on the bumper surface) Eric

Amazing how divergent this group can get. I have to admit I too was expecting it to be about Limited Slip differentials!
