Had a nice run out today around the Peak District and caught the sun out.

My Elan ran like a dream, due for MOT tomorrow, fingers and toes crossed.

Great pictures Doug. The car doesn't look like a possible mot failure!

Nice car :) This summer has been dreadful for top down motoring, I have only done about half the miles I usually do in the Elan :x

What colour is your car?

Hi Doug,

Nice car!

I noticed that you had twin exhaust tail pipes.

What is the exhaust setup on the car?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Steve, It's Lagoon Blue courtesy of Richard Winter (Europa Eng.)

Hi Peter, The exhaust came with the car when I bought it in boxes, all I know is that it is a stainless steel system from manifold Y piece to tail pipe. I think this set up (twin tail pipe) was fitted to the S4 SE, however as always I stand to be corrected, by a greater knowledge than mine.

Ah yes MoT was also secured today with no problems save for a small amount of play in the O/S front wheel bearing. Just fix it, said the man and sent me on my way.

Is that a standard colour?

Regarding the wheel bearings. As you may know they bearings need to be set up with a little bit of play in them. Getting the right amount of play is a real PITA. Using the biggest diameter ping you can squeeze in to secure the castle nut stops the nut slacking off and giving too much play.

Steve

Lagoon Blue was an official Lotus colour from October 1970. So it is a rare original colour for the S4.

My favorite colour scheme for the Sprint is lagoon blue over white.
