car width for lift

I am researching getting a lift put in the garage. I am not near my car right now...does anyone know the specs on the track? In other words, how wide is it from wheel to wheel? I seem to remember about 51 inches on my S3 but if anyone has that handy I would appreciate it. thanks, Jeff

What type of lift are you looking to get. I too am in the market and I think that with the fibreglass body I am probably limited to a 4 post lift. Has anyone had any experience with 2-post vs 4 post lift and are there any recomendations regarding makers.

I am thinking of a bend pak system (I think it is also known as an eagle lift)
