Ed,
Not sure which river, I don't recognise the accent. As with Somerset, most pronunciation depends on whereabouts in England you are from. And of course the Scots, Welsh and Irish are nearly as foreign as the North Americans!

Thanks for the translation Elancoupe. I wondered whether Ed meant the Zuiderzee but it isn't a river!?!

For what it's worth, we pronounce it like the Dutch. End of topic?
