That's a nice save on your S2 - I think a lot of people would have passed or given up once the reveal began. Can't wait to see it in the flesh. If the paints as nice as Greg's car it should look spectactular.

Forgot one more mod I really like. A remote bleeder for the clutch. It's simply a banjo fitting on one end of a length of braided line and the bleed parts on the other end. The bleed line in the pic is closest to you. Line is about 12" long. All the parts were obtained from Pegasus Racing. Can't find the receipt at the moment or I'd list the parts required.

Your car looks great. Are those Panasport wheels?

The parts for the clutch bleeder routing were in a previous post of yours about 6 months ago. Here's what was listed.

1 - 3-14-S-B 14 inch size 3 TFE hose, straight swivel to 3/8" banjo
2 - 3241-3/8 soft copper crush washers
1 - 3242-11 Banjo bolt, 3/8-24 single (.78 shank)
1 - 3254-02-03S 1/8 NPT female - 3AN steel adapter
1 - 3266-05 1/8 NPT brake bleeder assembly (2 piece)

I don't think any of this is redundant, Its all just for fun. For those that want to, to show their Elan and/or Plus 2. Registries are a fine thing But I like to think of this topic as "real time" to show the current state of your Lotus. Lots of nice cars here, I will admit that there is a certain Brooklands Green S2 that may be on the redundant side but the scenery isn't.

I already posted this in the Gallery section, so my apologies to those of you who have seen it. I just wanted to add its status to this thread.

After a ten-year hibernation, following retirement from vintage racing (very friendly in these parts), my 1968 S4 Elan #8439 ran again the other day. After we cleaned the carburetors, it started up right away and I drove it around the village where I live. The clutch pedal is a little low (I wish I had the remote bleeder shown above), but the car was great to drive.

Thanks, Evan. The floor looks better in photos than in real life, I'm afraid. But it is easy to find dropped washers, etc., on it's white surface, so I'm quite happy with it. I'll be resetting ride height shortly and attend to several things on the Elan, so it will be in that space for a while.

Such a shame to pop it back in there, Spanner. I hope you sprayed the metal parts liberally with WD40 or such and plan on resurrecting the car shortly.
