No...

But the racing shells for 26R cars are lighter than the Elane Coupe shells.

S4 shells are also lighter than earlier models, one less layer of mat to save costs. Two of use lifted my shell when I did my rebuild.

185 lb when I weighed my s4 dhc shell. probably had 15lb of fill in the front of it too...

Again, listen to Mark (Elan in the forest) less is more, on a car with this type of history!

A fascinating post. It's of particular interest because our S4 DHC is also in Royal Blue and I haven't seen very many in this colour during 34 years of ownership. I think we ought to arrange a gathering of Royal Blues when you've completed the work. Good luck with it, and I look forward to following your progress.

Fantastic find ! But it's going to be a brain teaser to restore.. To judge what you have to replace, and what you have to keep as is to keep the originality of the car. It's an historical car !

Evening,

the car is now finished and will at home tomorrow,

95% of the original parts were used including the chassis, seats etc .
Neil has done his usual amazing job .

i will post pictures of the finished car in the morning,
its been a long road!
