My understanding is that the green frame is artistic license.

By carpet inside the door, do you mean the cream finish? The early cars all had that, not carpet though.

The air cleaner depicted on the drawing was what was used on the earliest prototype engines and, I believe, on the handful of 1500 engines.

I was referring to the bottom of the door, Tim. Rather than the styled Naugahyde of the later cars it appears to be covered with short loop carpet. And I'm curious about the inside opening door handle as well. Almost looks as if its hooked to a pull cord. Probably as the frame....artistic licence! :)

Never mind the prototype rear A frame without the diagonal (like the one in the British Museum)!

Oh, and thanks for posting, it's quite nostalgic.

Slightly old thread but I've just come across one of these brochures.
What's a reasonable amount to offer the current owner ?

I'm not looking for a bargain, but I'm not looking to rip him off either.

Ralph.

I've seen them anywhere from $US100 - $350.

This one (https://www.ebay.com/itm/1963-LOTUS-ELAN-1500-Original-Factory-Sales-Brochure-VERY-RARE/362305569907?hash=item545b184473:g:iBMAAOSw9Ypa5C4O&vxp=mtr is currently listed for $US160 = $Aus225, which seems reasonable.

Great post Phil, thanks!

And I notice that both pictures of the engine show the ignition HT leads curling around the back of the engine. It's much neater that way but seems to be rarely done these days. I must reorient mine that way sometime.

Old thread, but I do wonder do I see some kind of heat shield curling around number 4 exhaust?

Sure would be nice to have so much room between bulkhead and engine...
