Deryck,
I have it in my garage ready for a Zetec conversion, what did you want to know?

PS, I have removed the paint ( it was in gold leaf livery) and found an odd combination of yellow and black underneath.

Good luck, finding Shergar might be easier

I purchased this car secondhand in December 1973 from a dealer near Enfield Middlesex. The log book showed it had previously been owned by Lotus Cars and the registered driver was John Miles, a Lotus race driver at that time. I still have the invoice for the purchase of the car.
A little research recently when I was looking to purchase a Sprint and wondered if my original car might be available showed that BAH550J was the first Sprint made by Lotus and was tested by several continental motor magazines in Germany and Holland.
The body was restored by DLF Classic Cars some years ago - see

I have recently purchased a similar Sprint almost identical with this one I enjoyed so much 40+ years ago.
Hope this is of interest.

Wasn?t the original car a dhc, but the car shown on the DLF page was a fhc or am I mistaken?

No, the original car was a fhc in the Gold Leaf Team Lotus colours of red over white. It did however have a white front bumper not the gold of later cars as I don?t think they had decided on the colour at that time.

Rob have a look at: http://www.lotuselansprint.com/index.asp?pageid=41809

There were 4 cars - 2 x LHD, 2 x RHD in DHC and FHC covering most of the bases I suppose. I wonder what happened to the others (possibly won't ever find out if they were absorbed in production cars.

Any car with "bah" in the plate must be special.

https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/bah

As in, "Bah! I sneer on your soulless modern cars! They feel like driving lumps of cotton wool."

:D
