I see your point but as someone pointed out if you flip the car your head will be destroyed most probably by hitting the roll bar. I need to fit a head restraint but there are no fixings on the safety devices bar.

On an unrelated point, the H registration 1970 car can't be a Sprint as the Sprint didn't appear until J reg in 1971. I believe it's currently up for sale for ?60k and the advert is misleading on this point.

Yes very true Feb 1971 the first sprints came off the line

Having been upside down in a convertible I would not consider having an Elan without a rollbar. I was further convinced when I bought a hard top from a very nice man who said he did not have need of it. When we met to collect it was clear why he didn't need it. The whole of his forehead was a skin graft. He said he only survived because the first car on the scene had a trauma nurse in it who saved him.

No problem they do look very alike especially in the light. Saw this other coupe at Paul Matty?s but now not sure whether it?s Colorado.

Mine is an early Sprint with key on the dash and early steering wheel.

Funnily enough, that is the same car I mentioned, I think that the owners said it was Bahama yellow but I can't remember. As you can tell by the weather, the picture was taken in wales!
Best regards, P
