A late night gets me a finished diff.
With the exception of the output shafts, it is fully rebuilt and looking great.

Hi Mark, the body is currently being prepped for paint. Not rushing it.

It is time for the cylinder head to have a make over.
Just fit new guides, touched up the seats, now have new valves and springs, and given it the lightest of skims.
I was lucky enough not only to have a matching numbers cylinder head, but it also had never been touched. It all measured perfectly as though it had never been on an engine.
Let’s see if I can capitalize on that.

Front hubs done. Now I have a bit more time on my hands, this should start moving forward instead of the more recent snail pace.

I hope the Guides were fitted using Liquid Nitrogen to cool them and Head warmed up

Cylinder head was done more than correctly. My anal approach to everything can be a fault sometimes. Well, so my wife says anyway.

The brake lines all on, so now the dry fit is underway.
All coming together well.

Finally I have been able to allocate time to my Elan again.
Here is the result of last week’s work.

I imagine you'll fit a Diff Brace.
Do you think you will stay with Rotoflexes or fit CVs.
I must say you are doing a very nice job

Hi Alan, thanks for your kind words. It is turning out very nice indeed. I think only because it is such a pleasure to work with and ‘most’ of it makes sense.

I am not fitting a diff brace. I am a purest so I am building it as per factory spec. I want to experience it as it was originally designed, then understand why the upgrades were made.

More pics to come this week once I get the engine/gearbox in.
