If you have bolt-on wheels (I have Zetec Sierra hubs ) you could use a narrow rim emergency type wheel, save weight, and give yourself a little more room in the boot.

Yes, Herald or Spitfire are the same pcd. However you might find it as hard to find one of those as a genuine Elan wheel. I'm sure someone on here can help you out. Apropos space saving, I have a 70 profile tyre on mine which aids getting it in and out of the boot as it can be a tight fit against the tank. Bear in mind the spare supports the boot board which is then level with the top of the tank.

Quite a few Herald wheels on eBay at the moment. £20 for two if you don't mind them being in need of a respray.

As said Herald and Spitfire are the same PCD but there are others.
4 x 3.75” (95.25mm) PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter).
Austin: Marina
Lotus: Elan, Europa, Seven
Triumph: Herald, Spitfire, GT6, Vitesse
MG: MGF. Metro, Montego, Maestro.
Some of these cars have mag wheels which would not be suitable although some have steel wheels as a spare (could be a space saver)
Another thing would be to check the offset to make sure it would not catch anywhere.
Ebay UK would be the place to look and Triumph wheels are plentiful there.

I have KO wheels on my S4 but for fender clearance this should not matter :
my stock 4.5" steel Lotus rims were measured with 106mm backspace, 35mm frontspace (so total width at the rim 141mm)

to be checked taking in account to the specs of the present hubs with respect to the stock hubs...
