due to its beauty, rareness and all of the advisable mods, this car should be worth at least 50 grand, the english type!! sandy

Not surprised it's not being sold after all - Ah, the dilemma.

We all reach that point.

Mines just been MOT'd and checking the paperwork I've done 800 miles or so every year for the last 3 years.

Should I therefore keep it or move it on ?????

Keep it, keep it !!!

And Mark - your car is absolutely spot on. If you ever sell it the chances of getting another one as good are.....slim to none !

Regards
Richard

Hi folks,
I replied to all the interested parties prior to posting this note, and did so with an apology to each and every one of them. I'd just Iike to say something about my dilemma and probably that of a few owners on this forum, that maybe also feel the time has come to let go.

Firstly I was lucky enough to buy this car off a real gent in the Lake District who had two sons. He told me he couldn't give it to either and would only sell for what was then two arms and a leg as he had had it so long. Eventually I got it from the chap who I guess was in his 70's by then.

So, moving on I have had her for 12 years, covering only around 3000 miles in that time. I work in the Oil and Gas industry which keeps me away from the UK a lot, plus I have other cars which provide as much fun if not more. Thus I "made" the decision to sell her and let someone else have the pleasure. However, what transpired over the last day or so, (which really had my hands wringing), were PM's saying... "consider your actions", ..." big mistake".... " you won't get another", etc etc. And last but not least, an hours phone call with a chap on here I consider a good friend and confidant, with whom I often speak (and have done for a lot of years), who said basically the same thing. So I reconsidered, did I need the money (no), would I miss the car (yes), is it a great hobby (yes), do I meet interesting people at shows (yes), do I like this forum ( yes :D ) so all in all I talked myself out of selling and into keeping. I know for sure there were disappointed people and once again my apologies.

So looks like I'll be posting for a while longer

Thanks
Mark

I've owned a lot of cars in my lifetime. There is nothing else like a Lotus. Good decision to keep it. Irrespective of the amount of miles you drive it, I'll bet you have the biggest smile on each and every drive. Priceless.

Of course.... I could always drive the car for you when you have to be out of the country... it would be a crime to leave it sitting in a dark garage. I would charge you the bare minimum for this and it would not you too much for my train fares.
