1970 Plus 2 - SOLD

PostPost by: Briggs1 » Mon Mar 06, 2017 12:30 am

Due to general project overload I?m looking to move my 1970 Plus 2.
img_2162.jpg and

I?ve had the car for about 7 years. Drives well and gets a LOT of attention at the Cars and Coffee outings.
Mechanically and electrically the car has been 100% rebuilt. I have done the work myself, with the exception of the engine.
? Complete engine teardown and rebuild (have documentation).
? Distributor just recurved.
? New Galvanized chassis, with gussets added to rear strut towers.
? New shocks front and rear.
? Smaller OD springs on rear with adjustable spring platform.
? Brakes rebuilt with SS pistons all around.
? SS exhaust and muffler
? CV Axle setup ? not yet installed (RD Enterprises style)
? Linear actuator for headlight lift/return
? Aluminum radiator

Birdseye Maple dash- veneered on both sides for stability.
Currently has black Recaro vinyl seats.

I have two spare doors, a spare trunk lid and a new windshield.

The body will need TLC. Should be stripped and refinished. There are signs of previous body work that should be uncovered and verified. The interior was not completed since I was waiting until the car was painted, but now I think I?m stuck in an endless loop. I have Mercedes carpet (bulk on a roll) for the interior. I have Chrome front and rear bumper that are not installed on the car now. There is a black front bumper on the car. Nothing on the rear.
Photos of the car here (these are not up to date but it will give an idea of what I have):

In the pictures the trunk is never closed since I keep it on a battery tender, but it does close and seals well.
If you want a Plus 2 and not afraid of the finish work this is a great platform.

I?m looking for $14K (next stop is Ebay but wanted to offer it here first)
Car is in Delaware.
I?ll get some more current pictures and update this week.

Thanks,
Briggs

I forgot to note - have a fiberglass crash pad that goes with the car and the center console was rebuilt with fiberglass instead of the flimsy thermoformed white plastic that was there before.

Does it drive, brake, accelerate well?

brake boosters?

what ignition are you running?

the recaro seats in the photos look to be cloth not vinyl? (which is fine)

Are those Smiths guages (cant see in the photos) --- working?

Do the locks work? keys?

what doesnt work?

what leaks?

Drives, brakes and accelerates as good as (or better than) new.

Ignition is Pertronix in Distributor system.

Recaros in the pictures are cloth, they have been switched for black vinyl.

Gages are Smiths. I removed the Amp gage and replaced with a volt gage.

Clock does not work. All other gages work as new.

Locks work with keys.

What does not work? - Clock.

what leaks? - slow dribble from the tans at the speedo gear, and regular engine dribble - Nothing major.

Mechanically - the car is excellent.

Replaced relays and fuses with modern units. Replaced generator with an Alternator. Electric fuel pump in trunk.
