Thanks - that spring is removed now - emergency use to get past a scrutineer for a hillclimb!!

as a matter of curiosity, what kind of event would let the old style partial roll cage pass scruteneering ?

I have been considering entering some formal events with my street elan ('68 S4 FHC), though the roll cage (and fuel tank etc.) appears to be an issue here...

...road going hill climb class allows cars in road going spec with minor modifications (catch tank for engine breathing, stickers by ignition switch, marked earth strap).

Highly recommended and great fun.

David,

which series is the road going hill climb you refer to and who runs it please. I'd be interested to ensure my car complies with the requirements with a view to having a go at some stage.
