1971 Lotus Elan S4 SE

The car was owned by the previous owner for 43 years. After I bought it in 2019 it underwent a significant rebuild with discrete upgrades.

• Complete engine rebuild, replicating Sprint spec (higher compression, QED camshafts)
• Mikuni carb conversion
• Exhaust headers, stainless steel exhaust
• New Helix Autosport clutch
• 123 Ignition distributor, Bluetooth programmable
• Upgraded starter and alternator
• Davis Craig electric waterpump and controller
• Aluminum radiator, SPAL high performance ventilator
• Nabco aluminum (Datsun 240Z) master cylinder conversion
• New aluminum fuel tank and Facet electronic fuel pump
• Elantrikbits CV Drive Shaft Conversion
• Braille lightweight AGM battery
• Tony Thompson Fast Road and Track coilover suspension
• Tony Thompson Steel Billet rear hub shafts
• Minilite wheels with Yokohama tires
• Spyder Cars rollbar
• Momo Prototipo steering wheel; original Lotus steering wheel in very good condition also included
• Smiths Electronic speedometer

Additionally, it comes with two big storage boxes full of original parts, the original steel wheels, tonneau cover, original documentation, car jack, specific tools and a lot of analog and digital information that I accumulated over the last couple of years.

This Elan moves like nothing else I have ever driven. It turns heads everywhere.

The paint is starting to show its age. When closely inspecting you will find some imperfections.

$ 35,000. Clean MI title.

The Elan is located in the Metro Detroit area.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Were you at the intersection of North Territorial and Sheldon Roads Wednesday night? I saw a S4 elan go by similar to yours. Rare car to see in my town.

Lovely car! Interested. Visiting the metro area for a couple days. If you are available to show it, please let me know when and where. Got a couple of events scheduled but I believe I can work around them.

Thanks.
