Boot tray

This may qualify more as a home-made accessory than a mod. For years I stored small loose items in the trunk (boot) in a large round tupperware, which fit nicely in the spare wheel, but still wasn't able to fit my wheelnut wrench and jack handle in a secure location. I made a wide tray which mounts securely to the forward raised area of the trunk, attaching to the exposed threads of the tops of the diff mounts. I made it out of quarter inch thick black ABS sheet and glued the panels together with black ABS pipe cement. This tray leaves 25 inches clear to the rear inside panel of the trunk, so plenty of room still for luggage. As an aside I secure my non-original scissor jack to a pair of bolt studs mounted to the right of the gas tank.

The tray is four inches deep. I made a couple custom 3/8-24 thumb nuts to secure it, but most any nut/washer combo would work as well. I glued some leftover pieces to the underside which space the floor of the tray off the heads of the diff nylok nuts.
