Hi All,

I am fitting solid polycarb windows to my S4 elan and looking at fitting slider and pop-out vents to each side.
Seen this;

Has anyone done the same please?

No, never thought of it. To what purpose are you doing it? Will they be fixed in place?

I do not have the glass or winder mechanisms.

The large square one slides and the circular one pops open and rotates.

I have just bought a slider for the drivers and a couple of pop outs.

Can anyone advise on the best way to cut the holes please?

Update - just bought a 80mm hole saw. So I will have to file off 1mm all round to get it to fit.

Regards,

Mark.

Arrived Friday. Quality looks good. Now waiting for the hole saw to arrive for the circular vents - due next week. :)

I can drill the 4 corner holes for the slider cut out. I am only having a slider on the drivers door. I need to scrounge a jig saw from friend/family though.

Hi Mark

Cut and drill slowly so that the tools do not get too hot otherwise the polycarbonate melts and jams the saw or cutter.

John

Is this for road use? If it is it's going to be hot hot hot inside in the summer months even with the vents. I was looking at a couple of Europas yesterday and they have really small opening windows. Didn't the early ones have them non opening?

The car is for road use. Tho I doubt I will be unable to keep away from Oulton Park Circuit.
The car will be used solely in the summer so I am installing as much ventilation as possible - especially on the drivers side window (as I do not usually carry passengers).
I'm also looking at ways to allow more unheated air through the heater plenum and installing sound/heat insulation to the bulkhead - behind the heater, cockpit side. :?
