I love how well your car is coming along. My old car is still pretty grotty. She needs attention.

The particular product I'm using is 3M Dual Lock MP3541?42. There are all kinds of colors and sizes available beyond these part numbers. This particular one comes in a pack with about 4.5m of product.

I bought it about 10 years ago. I still have some left and I keep finding more uses for it....

Regards,
Dan

Thanks for that, but I am gobsmacked at the cost! I will have to look at alternative options. I have the magnets so I think that I will investigate using them.

Want me to send you some? 25cm should be plenty.

Dan

Replacement polycarbonate (in orange packing) front and rear screens arrived today. However, the edges are protected by polycarbonate so that will have to be removed before they can be fitted.

OK, first attempt at making a windscreen. Used an original screen to work out how much bigger the polycarbonate version has to be. Cut the poly using a jig saw with no problem.

Next task was to attempt to form it to the shape of the opening. It does bend cold but that would result in a lot of pressure on the fixings so not really ideal. Experimented with heating with hot air gun. Reached the required 150 deg C and achieved partial bending.

I will continue tomorrow and, if necessary, make an aluminium mould and form it using the curing oven.

I think that I will leave the protective covering on so I am not scared by the speed I could be travelling at :-)

Filling it won't be an issue, getting it ready to be filled up is. Floor needs to be levelled and painted, then internal walls built to separate machine shop and storage areas, wiring, plumbing, insulation and boarding out of all the walls then paint them.

Looks like sectional concrete to me. Does it have a door at the back? Might be a good idea in case of fire.

Be sure to put fillets all around the base, or you will get water ingress.

No door at back, more concerned about security than fire. Wall sealed with mastic and cement mortar fillet on the inside.

It has been a while since I posted on here :-)

Garage is now functional, although still installing power and water. It is wonderful to be able to walk round the car without having to climb over stuff :-)

Looks great Steve! I had thought you were tearing up the track and having too much fun to post. Looking forward to more updates!

Unfortunately, not :-(

The last 10% of a build takes 90% of the time :-)
