stinky green sticky liquid coming from the carbs

PostPost by: RichC » Fri Jul 10, 2009 9:29 pm

i couldn't understand what that awful stink was ...
All i had out the back was the two weber carbs recently removed , externally cleaned up & laying on their side , but on closer inspection i noticed that this viscous very green liquid was running out of one of them & wow what a stink! was that really degraded 4 star petrol from 1995? I should imagine the colour is taken from copper , maybe from the floats? Only one of the carbs was affected.
can't get the smell outta my hands !!
Carb cleaner is on shopping list for tomorrow . The tank was dry and pump's been primed with fresh 4* petrol i got when i was in Kensington the other week .
pls tell me it's just degraded petrol....

So I take it Rich that you're now selling the car...or just the green liquid??
