LOTUS +2 MINILITES

PostPost by: 512BB » Sun Apr 28, 2013 7:41 am

I have a set of 4 genuine Minilite alloy wheels and tyres for a +2. They are on the car at the moment, and hence, they are not for outright sale, but for exchange ONLY, for a set of original fitment Lotus alloys to suit a late +2.

These wheels are in EXCELLENT condition, no scrapes or curbing, and are fitted with Yokohama tyres with about 6mm tread, so almost as new., and I am looking for an exchange for wheels and tyres in similar condition.

Hi Lesley

You haven't mentioned whether these are 13 or 14 inch rims, although at a guess, they are 14.

These are still available for a swap and are GENUINE MINILITES, spelt like that, and NOT Spyder copies, spelt minilights.

Hi, would you fancy doing a P/x with some Standard plus 2 black and chrome steels with nearly new toyo tyres?

As the wheels on my car are worth about 4 times the price of your standard +2 wheels Ash, I think I will pass on that p/ex, but thanks for the offer.

Thats the whole point of a PART exchange isn't it? I figured you'd have a car with wheels and spare cash to spend on the wheels you want which will be easier than finding someone who wants a straight swap. But never mind.

Leslie,

Are these reproductions the same pattern? £98 each at SJ sportscars.

Is that what you figured Ash? I thought my ad was fairly clear in what I was after, without any room for ambiguity. And I must have missed where you say 'my wheels and cash for yours'. Hey ho

Yet another candidate for specsavers. What a Wonder of this world you are.

The same pattern as what Alan? They are the ones I am looking for, but as a SIMPLE p/ex seems to be rather more difficult than I had expected, the existing wheels can go with the car when it comes up for sale shortly. Lord knows, it will be cheap enough.

Leslie,
Confused of Tunbridge Wells here. You want to swap some Minilites for some original pattern +2 alloys. That's all well and good. BUT you are selling the car that the Minilites are connected to. What are you trying to achieve here apart from
peeing off a few people just for fun?
Kindest regards

I merely asked the question, didn't realise that was an offence. Not sure what relevance that your wheels were worth four times more than mine had to the question. Was just giving you an option as no one was biting off your arms for these so valuable wheels.

Never mind.

Sounds like the kind of exchange that should take place at a poorly lit service station on the A1 :D

The wheels in the picture are 'Minilite Sports' made by Minilite, had the raised ring around the centre, and were less expensive. I also think ‘back then’ these were made from Aluminum and the others we made from Magnesium (sp?)
The Magnesium pattern Minilite wheel (without the ring) is style they make today.... But in aluminum.
