Lotus Elan

Pair of Caterham Seats for sale

PostPost by: craig chima » Fri May 06, 2016 12:43 am

O.K. so these aren't Elan seats, but at the risk of offending forum members, I'm posting a pair of very nice early 80's Caterham seats that I have just removed from a 1979 Caterham that I am in the process of restoring for a customer and am replacing with the original bench-style seat. Given the scarcity of original Elan seats and the fact that these seats will fit nicely in an Elan I have decided to post here. Plus, they are a considerably cheaper option than many other "non-original" choices out there. Black cloth/velour material and excellent condition with no imperfections and adjustable (fore/aft) seat rails included. $225 US for the pair. Akron, OH, USA, however I travel very frequently with my race prep business to vintage race events, and am happy to put them in the trailer if that gets them closer to a potential buyer. Heading to Summit Point, WV next weekend, and Lime Rock, Mosport and Watkins Glen later in the season if that might help someone out (maybe Road America too). I also have a couple of customers with cars that I maintain in upstate NY and make routine trips between Ohio and NY to shuttle cars for them and could transport seats on one of those trips. Craig

I had the leather version of those seats and they were superb!

The last of the proper seats IMO, the S type ones after didnt do it for me.

They should come with adjustable runners and for anyone put of by the (relative) modernity of the cloth material if you have them redone in leather you wont regret spending the money unless the trimmer is not up to the task.

All,

Thanks to everyone who replied. Seats sold early Friday afternoon. Sorry for not being able to post them as "sold" sooner. Going to an owner in California. Craig
