High balance tube manifold for twin cam engine

PostPost by: arcangel » Thu Feb 22, 2018 9:04 pm

HBT manifold for sale

I'm offering for sale one pair of high balance tube manifolds for the twin cam Lotus engine. I had two pairs made (minimum number my machinist will accept for a production run), need only one pair for now. Designed to replicate the non emissions intake manifold, it is machined from aluminum billet and tubing and is a direct bolt on for the federal twin cam Europas and Elans. To save labor costs only minimal finishing work was done. The surface finish is acceptable but some may want to have additional polishing done.
What is included:
1. (1) left and (1) right manifold
2. (1) balance tube
3. (2) screw in hollow plugs
4. butyl sealing “O” rings for the balance tube
Asking $400 for the pair.

Where did you get yours.
Are they still available.
Thanks Phil

Joji,
If you haven’t had any takers I might be interested, but at a significantly lower price (no offense intended, just my personal priorities).

Phil, I don’t know about those particular bells but RD Enterprises have some different ones for Strombergs.

Is there any advantage to having a high level balance tube over the mid level one I've got?

Presumably the plastic plugs are needed as a result of machining the manifolds?

Phil, the bellmouths/trumpets came with my Strombergs, I plan on keeping them. I do not know where thy came from but Pegasus sells them.

Unfortunately, the price I'm asking is what I paid my machinist for the HBTM. If 'm not able to sell them, they will go on my TCS Europa. The first one is for the Plus 2.

As far as I'm aware the only advantage to having the tube at mid level is probably the ease of machining the passages. The high balance tube requires a right angle attachment or in my case drill the hole from the bottom and to get access to the top and then plug up the bottom hole.
