Lotus Elan

Early final drive casing; and late type d/shafts

PostPost by: promotor » Thu Mar 07, 2019 9:19 pm

I've got an early type (small ear) Lotus final drive casing that I've decided I'm not going to use. I have kept it in my spares as it is in really great condition, in particular the bearing housings are as good as new - they normally wear ovally over time and don't hold the bearings tight. I have measured the housings with a dial bore gauge and they are as close to factory specs (if not dead-on) as I have seen. Also, the circlip grooves are undamaged. It's never been welded. £175.

Also available are a pair of late type non-safety inner driveshafts (ie those that come directly out of the final drive unit) in nice condition - I believe these are the thickest type available from the factory (please correct me if I'm wrong). One driveshaft has light grooving where the seal has been running but are otherwise in great condition with nice splines. They come with good usable SKF bearings and circlips installed. £100.

Cheers for looking.
