1965 26-S2-4 was in Austria for most of its existence and still in Austrian papers, ex Peter Peter

https://www.artcurial.com/fr/lot-1964-l ... pin-active

restored on a new chassis, not as a full out race car apparently nor in absolute respect of the original (e.g. dashboard or badges), yet likely to sell for more than the estimate

no affiliation (unfortunately)

As to the 26R authenticity, this one may make the cut for certification, but it's a bit of a "George Washington's Hammer" in terms of original 26R content. How would an appraiser tell the difference between this and a 26R copy made with credentials from a destroyed original?

Thank you Nicolas for spotting this sale, I will go and have a closer look (not with intention of bidding!). If this is indeed the Markl car, this is a picture of it racing in period:

There are some anorak subjects here on originality:

- is the red interior "factory original"
[I have looked at older posts, but I'm still curious as the subject is not very clear]
- the brake reservoirs are probably not original but does anyone have an idea who makes them ?
