71 S4 DHC on sale on Barnfinds and ebay sold

PostPost by: Elan45 » Thu Jul 18, 2019 3:00 am

My son notified me about this project, no engine nor gearbox in New Jersey.

It started about $2200 and I just looked and it has been removed from ebay. Anyone on the forum know anything about the seller or buyer and what happened to the engine/ gearbox Roger

All traces seem to have disappeared on eBay, but I have purchased parts from the seller "Kenaiyo" in NJ, seems to dabble in a lot of barn find older Lotus.

These are his current listings - https://www.ebay.com/sch/keinayo/m.html?item=333260360483&hash=item4d97dd8b23%3Ag%3AY44AAOSww7pdIoZs&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

eBay can be a convenient way to fish for a buyer. Basically free advertising. Someone reaches out to you about the listing and you cancel the listing and sell direct off line with no eBay fees.

Agreed, I have done this myself in the past. However, if you already have a bid and then stop the listing, ebay will charge you their fees regardless of you not selling the item through them. But in the days of £1 final value fees, and that is the only time I list, it does not seem worthwhile to stop an auction early unless you are offered silly money for an item. All the above does not apply to selling cars as a different fee structure applies.
