jacking points for trolly jack

Hi all,

Sorry for the simple nubee question.

I need to put the car up on axel stands.

But - where do I position the trolly jack? Front? Back?

Midships on front transverse box section section . Ie the bit behind where the vacuum feed to your headlamps comes out.
At the back use a large piece of wood in the chassis central channel..
Ie do two axle stands at same time.
Anywhere but not on the wishbone tubes for the stands They're hollow and easily bend.

For info my car is up on four axle stands at present, two under the front cross member, as near the outer ends as possible for stability. The rear is more tricky, I have a spacer piece of wood in the central channel of the chassis and a piece of 4"x2" timber about 4ft long across the car just in front of the diff under the rear seats. The axle stands go under the 4x2 about the same width apart as the front stands. The wood just about touches the floor of the car when the weight of the car is on it, this keeps it more stable than just supporting it under the central chassis and doesn't get in the way if you want to work on the diff and rear suspension.
