S4/Sprint rear bumper removal

PostPost by: MikeB » Fri Jul 13, 2018 9:21 am

Folks

I note that the book says remove the 4 set screws to release the rear bumper.

I have found the two that are on the tip of the bumper , see the attached photo

But where are the other two ? Have looked all inside the boot and can?t see any nut heads sticking out !

Are they at the wrap-around ends, like the front bumper?

I believe some cars had one or two more attachment bolts at the centre rear with corresponding bobbins built into the bumper, I vaguely remember this been discussed on the forum previously so maybe a search would help. :!:

Brain

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately a search didn't supply the answer, but fortunately Richard Wilson came up with the answer.

The Sprint rear bumper is held on by only one bolt at each front tip of the bumper only, which comes from inside the boot, as noted in the previously attached pic.

Having removed the bolts, there was still a reluctance to come off, so I applied gentle leverage at the corner of the back panel and off it popped, the foam lining was holding it against the body, hence why the pressure was required.
Cheers
