As I'm about the fit the refurbished struts and do a paint job on the roof,
it would seem a good idea to take the rear window out.

Any tips to make it stress free?

Anyone have a refitting tool for the rubber I could borrow?

Vince

Last time I did it on my S4 I cut the rubber out with a Stanley knife and bought a new one. For the cost of the replacement it wasn't worth the stress.

Putting it back in I got a mobile fitter to do it for me and paid him cash. From memory he used a piece of cord and lots of 'lube' from a spray bottle. The only tool used was to put the chrome locking strip back. If you need one of those I have one you can borrow.

Hi Vince,
Just buy the tools - they are very cheap and it is an easy job.

I made my strip tool, from an old file handle and a bit of wire coat-hangher.
