The trick to get the matt to stick on the undersurface is to use a large number of small patches of matt and stipple each one in before going to do the next one - one big bit of matt will fall off, but lots of little bits tend to stay in place - and if one does fall off its not a disaster!

After a little over a year, a kid and a chaotic pandemic, I almost don't with this project. While the weather was warm last fall I ground out and sanded down to the crack, underneath only, and laid new glass to stabilize the the nose.I thought it had gone quite well. However, almost six months on when I went to go fit the headlight pod, it doesn't quite want to fit right... It looks like the pod is crooked and the gap around the body is uneven.

When I first installed it, it was catching on the upper left corner (towards the middle of the car) but with a little finagling, I was able to get it to clear OK. However, once I went to re-install the springs it catches again and scrapes the upper left corner when the lights open and close.



Is there an adjustment or trick to getting the pods back in and aligned? It seems like it is really only help in by the two bolts and I don't see any obvious to adjust the angle of the pod.

Only adjustment is side to side by the pivot bolts and the bump stop on the downward travel. As far as I can work out any other adjustment is by fibreglass grinding or adding. Might be worth trying a different pod if you have one or can borrow one.
