So, reviving this thread...
After a little over a year, a kid and a chaotic pandemic, I almost don't with this project. While the weather was warm last fall I ground out and sanded down to the crack, underneath only, and laid new glass to stabilize the the nose.I thought it had gone quite well. However, almost six months on when I went to go fit the headlight pod, it doesn't quite want to fit right... It looks like the pod is crooked and the gap around the body is uneven.
When I first installed it, it was catching on the upper left corner (towards the middle of the car) but with a little finagling, I was able to get it to clear OK. However, once I went to re-install the springs it catches again and scrapes the upper left corner when the lights open and close.
Is there an adjustment or trick to getting the pods back in and aligned? It seems like it is really only help in by the two bolts and I don't see any obvious to adjust the angle of the pod.
