I'm fitting a new dash board and as I'm not having a radio will use the radio blank as supplied with the dash. Could somebody tell me how this should be attached to dash.
Thanks

Alan.

It?s screwed in, but probably the new dash does not have the pieces of wood at the rear of the dash. Same for the switches.

Cheers

There are two strips affixed to the back of the dash. The blank is screwed to these. As original, and in a replacement dash as below.

I've never understood the packing strips where the switches mount. Apart from the cost and hassle of fitting them, Chapman was a believer in simplicity.

Why didn't they just use thicker plywood? - perhaps it was a weight saving issue..........

Thanks for the info. folks.
Was thinking I would use the same method as the switches. The screw heads would not be visible then but might be a bit of pain to remove. No different to removing the switches though.

For ease of removal you could just use 4 small blobs of clear silicone and tape it in place until it?s cured. If you then want to fit a radio it would be a simple job to insert a sharp blade to free the insert.
