PostPost by: sk178ta » Sun May 09, 2004 10:46 am

The windscreen wire thingy on which the mirror is mounted, is it necessary?
If so, how do you replace it?

Yes it stop the windscreen from falling out :o

At speed negative pressure on the roof pulls at the top of the screen frame, the rod acts against this keeping thing together.

Alas I can not help you on how you get to it to replace it :(

Search the Lotuselan Yahoo group or the archives. There was a discussion some time ago on how a few people made thier own from a bicycle spoke with a nut or something brazed to one end.

It is a bicycle spoke that holds the top of the frame from pulling up from the glass from the air preassure lift when the top is fitted..
