Strengthen A Standard Chassis

Hi All
I have two original chassis. One from a 1968 car and one from a car first registered in 1977. Both have a fair bit surface rust, but seem OK. I am going to get both shotblasted and zinc powdercoated. Then I will waxoyl the closed section. I intend to use one and sell the other.
I have seen the TTR pics and AVO drawings of the strengthed chassis on this site, and wonder if it is worth doing for a road car. My last car develped two big cracks on the main chassis rails an inch or so behind the turrets. I do drive fairly fast and in our area there are more speed humps than you can shake a stick at. By the way, I do slow down for the humps!
Does anyone have any experience of this?
Thanks
Berni
