Crankshaft timing sprocket removal

PostPost by: stelz » Thu Jun 30, 2005 5:23 am

Hi there fellas,

I am trying to remove the timing chain sprocket off the front of the crankshaft (long stroke) so I can replace it with the TC one which has the correct offset. It seems to be on fairly well and my puller keeps slipping off.

Does anyone have any good tips on how to easily get the sprocket off the crankshaft ?

Thanks,

Ben

I always use a bearing splitter with my hydraulic puller to get the sprocket off. Other wise you need a properly sized puller. If its too big the puller legs will slip off given the small diameter of the sprocket.
