If you don't like the low first gear of the Voights box, think of getting a gearset from BGH (http://www.bghgeartech.co.uk/html/5_speed.html)
Choose the E7 2.75 1st. Mike Ostrov went this route on his T9 conversion for the Type 14.
You can combine this with the 3.55 diff if you want. The key thing is the ratios are reasonably OK. Too bad Alan and Brian can't work together!
