Converting Smiths Rvi Tach To Rvc

I installed a Mallory Unilite dizzy on my S4. My Smith's RVI tach bounces wildly over 3000 RPM. I've read the postings on the problems w/ RVI tach and modern ignitions. Does anyone have detailed instructions to convert a RVI to RVC?
